Privacy Policy

St. Andrew's Church, Horbling ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

St. Andrew's Church, Horbling is part of the Gilbertine Benefice, within the Diocese of Lincoln, itself part of The Lincoln Diocesan Trust & Board of Finance Ltd. For any data protection query relating to this website, please contact us using the details in Section 9 below.

2. What Data We Collect

We only collect personal data that you choose to give us, principally through the contact form on this website. This may include your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message. We do not use analytics cookies or tracking technology to build a profile of visitors to this site (see our Cookie Policy for full details of what this site does use).

3. How We Use Your Data

Any information you submit through our contact form is used solely to respond to your enquiry — for example, to answer a question, arrange a baptism, wedding or funeral, or discuss how you might get involved with the church. We do not use your data for marketing, and we do not sell or rent your data to any third party.

4. Lawful Basis

We process your data on the basis of legitimate interest — responding to enquiries you have made to us — or, where relevant, to take steps at your request prior to entering into a service such as a baptism, wedding or funeral booking.

5. Who We Share Data With

Contact form submissions are processed by Formspree, a third-party form-handling service, which delivers your message to us by email. We do not share your data with any other third party except where required by law, or where a specific enquiry (for example, a wedding or funeral booking) needs to be passed to the relevant benefice administrator to arrange.

6. Retention

We keep enquiry data only for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and any reasonable follow-up, after which it is deleted.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to how it is used. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.

8. Cookies

This website uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function, and cookies that are only set if you actively choose to load an embedded map or video. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

9. Contact Us About Data

If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, please contact Rev'd Rebecca Rock at Rebecca.Rock@lincoln.anglican.org or 01529 701505.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113, or by post to Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
